The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at UCCS does not grant PhD degrees.
Post-doctoral positions are exceedingly rare as we are an undergraduate-focused institution.
Please do not inquire about opportunities for PhD students or post-doctoral positions.
Successful undergraduate student researchers in this lab typically meet the following qualifications:
- Completed Organic Chemistry I and Physics I
- Are willing to commit to research for 2 semesters
- Earning B's or better in most core chemistry, biology, physics, and math classes
- Are biochemistry or chemistry majors (enthusiastic and molecular-minded biology majors are welcome to apply)
- Have ~6 hours per week to spend doing research during the semester
- Are enthusiastic about protein structure and biophysics
- Are willing to do research that is computationally focused

- Please read our department application information and admission criteria. You cannot be admitted into the Master's program without meeting admission criteria for the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.
- If you feel that you would meet the admission criteria, please complete the Graduate Research Assistant Application form and send your completed application to cvanderz@uccs. This form will serve as the basis for discussions about possible research opportunities in the lab.
